What is the ideal server room?
János Angeli presented key steps for building a server room in new and existing buildings. Particular attention was on the electrical and mechanical sizing, also on the efficient, useful placement of racks and IT equipment.
Energy efficiency vs. redundancy in server rooms
Henceforth János Angeli talked about the design and mandatory items of infrastructure needed to the TIER I-IV certified Data Centers. He presented the efficiency measurements around UPS devices and Dynamic Power Supplies (Flywheel) operated by himself earlier. At the end he mentioned some important designing and operating details from categories of power distribution.
State of art UPS technologies
András Élő presented Emerson Network Power UPS devices (10 KVA – 32 MVA) and how the modularity-reliability-energy efficiency trio works – highlighted in previous presentations. He emphasized the financial benefits and technical risks of recent energy efficiency.
PDU systems in practice
László Kovács presented the power distribution system applications – from the simple one to the manageable one. He underlined the importance of fuses and connectors, and gave an overall summary about PDU’s, as the very important part of the energy management.
Energy efficient cooling solutions of server rooms
János Angeli – based on his earlier experiences and measurements – traced important things in design and operation which play a part in different cooling systems. He showed benefits and drawbacks of different layouts and clarified, that only precision cooling systems are adequate in professional server rooms. He renewed the basic conditions of TIER I-IV certifications.
Precision cooling solutions inside or outside of the server rooms
Edit Lakner – by replying Angelo’s discourse – presented chilled water and direct expansion cooling technologies of Emerson Network Power/ Thermal Management, with particular regard to the energy efficiency and modularity. The new server room cooling systems – adiabatic and evaporative -were also presented.
Modular rack systems and intelligent cooling solutions
Tomislav Šarić, regional manager at Emerson Network Power presented the energy efficient interaction of precision cooling and rack solutions and introduced the new, patented Emerson Smart Aisle system. The possibilities and benefits of the new technologies were also highlighted.
How can DCIM help improving data canter efficiency?
Patrick Doherty from England – using video connection – gave a short description about Trellis, Avocent’s ( Emerson Network Power brand) server room management software. He described the potentials of software modules and the important advantages for the costumers.
